Bio-Medical Competition & Dinner

Date: May 8, 2025 – 6 PM to 9 PM

Location: Bowie State University

No. of Attendees: 40 middle students

Prizes: 1ˢᵗ – $100; 2ⁿᵈ – $50; 3ʳᵈ – $25

About: Patriots has established a partnership with local hospitals to guide a group of 3 middle/high school students in creating a research paper, flyer, poster board display, and website focusing on different medical specialties and treatments. The teams will present their project at a dinner event before a panel of medical professionals attended by their teachers, family, and friends. Specialties: Anesthesiologist, Cardiology, Dermatologist, Neurologist, Obstetrics Gynecologist, Pediatrician, Psychiatrist, Radiologist.

Solar System Competition

Date: May 15th, 2025 – 6 PM to 9 PM

Location: Thomas Johnson Middle School

No. of Attendees: 40 students

Prizes: 1ˢᵗ – $100; 2ⁿᵈ – $50; 3ʳᵈ – $25

About: Students will conduct research on Mars to assess its suitability for human exploration. Each team, consisting of three students, will produce a two-page research paper, create a poster board, design a brochure, and deliver an oral presentation to a panel of astronomy experts. Additionally, they will compete in a computer challenge titled Martian Frontier.

Math Mania

maSTErMinds campers explore real-world math applications through fun, interactive activities—measuring recipes, counting and budgeting money, and decoding patterns. Boost problem-solving skills, confidence, and creativity while making math an adventure they’ll love.

Rocket Science

June 23-27 - Grades K-3

(half-day)

maSTErMinds campers will use the scientific method and their knowledge of Newton’s Laws to understand how rockets launch. Campers will participate in various activities and rocket launches to help them better understand the science and engineering principles behind rockets such as altitude, velocity, and forces.

LEGO Robotics

June 30 - July 3 (9 am - 3 pm)

Grades K - 3 - $325

maSTErMinds campers learn to design, build, program and test LEGO robots. Each camper will be assigned their own robot, gain hands-on experience using the scientific method and standard operating procedures, while working both individually and in teams.
